Westerner Park announces their continued commitment to hosting the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships for 2021!
This year the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon & Chariot Association (APCCA) sanctioned Twist the 8 Tour will take place at the Wagons at Westerner event on Friday, July 23rd to Sunday, July 25th.
Wagons at Westerner is an event created exclusively for this year. The hope is to bring the community together to watch the pony chuckwagon races, while enjoying live local entertainment, local food trucks and the Bud Light Seltzer outdoor beer garden. Friday and Saturday night will wrap up with the Fireworks Spectacular show.
There will be 38 chuckwagons competing over three days for the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championship and there will also be 24 chariot racing prior to the wagons. The Agri-Trade Stars of Tomorrow (sons & daughters of competitors) will showcase their skills with their mini chuckwagons and chariots just prior to the chuckwagons.
There will be many familiar faces and some new faces, but all drivers share one thing in common – they are passionate about promoting this family orientated sport.
