Postponed “A Very Acoustic Christmas” with George Canyon

November 24, 2020 | Red Deer, AB – Westerner Park is postponing A Very Acoustic Christmas with George Canyon until 2021. The decision came following the Government of Alberta’s announcement declaring a state of public health emergency and putting aggressive measures in place to protect the health system and reduce the rising spread of COVID-19 cases.

“Unfortunately, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and in support of the Alberta Government’s announcement today, we will be postponing our event until a later date,” says Mike Olesen, Chief Executive Officer, Westerner Park. “We know that by taking these measures now, we are doing our part to protect the health and safety of our community.”

The 3 shows were sold out and set to be held on Thurs, Dec 3, Fri, Dec 4, and Sat, Dec 5, 2020. The intimate event, presented by Real Country 95.5, would have also included a Christmas buffet dinner by Red Deer Catering.

“Thank you to our community. Selling out 3 dates for A Very Acoustic Christmas with George Canyon in only 6 hours is a testament to the confidence our guests have in us to safely and successfully produce events,” says Mike Olesen.

Westerner Park’s goal is to deliver a celebration experience to their guests in a safe and comfortable environment. They will work with their partners to try and find the appropriate time to host another event with George Canyon in 2021.

All ticket purchasers will be contacted directly and refunded through Tickets Alberta.
