The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) is excited to announce a new format for its 19th Annual AJHL Showcase, which will now feature six AJHL games and two Western Hockey League (WHL) games across a three-day event.
The Showcase will take place at the Marchant Crane Centrium in Red Deer on January 19th & 20th and the Downtown Community Arena at Rogers Place in Edmonton on January 21st. Each AJHL team will play one regular-season game against an opposing division team, setting up a North versus South battle throughout the event.
This revised format is designed to allow scouts and fans to see the very best of Junior hockey by bringing the two leagues together for this premier event. The WHL games include the Red Deer Rebels hosting the Regina Pats on January 20th, and the Edmonton Oil Kings wrapping up the event against the Pats on January 21st.
The AJHL Showcase provides invaluable exposure for our athletes to coaches and scouts at all levels, including Canadian and American Colleges and Universities, the WHL, and the Canadian Hockey League. Fans unable to attend can enjoy a multi-camera broadcast featuring replays, in-game interviews and guest appearances.
