MNP Presents Special Guest Brett Kissel at Cowboy Kicks

June 14, 2021

June 14, 2021 | Red Deer, AB – Cowboy Kicks is pleased to welcome MNP as an entertainment sponsor and announce that the event will feature an appearance by special guest Brett Kissel.

“We are thrilled to team up with MNP on our inaugural event to raise funds for the Westerner Foundation and the volunteer-led Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Medicine Team,” said Cowboy Kicks Chair Kathy Lacey. “Thanks to MNP’s generous support, event attendees will enjoy an intimate performance by our special guest — JUNO and CCMA award-winning country singer Brett Kissel.”

“MNP is proud of our deep western-Canadian roots, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Cowboy Kicks for this important fundraising initiative,” said Patrick Wigmore, MNP’s Regional Managing Partner for Central Alberta. “Supporting the communities where we live and work is the cornerstone of MNP’s culture and being able to support the Westerner Foundation and Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Medicine Team brings us immense pride.”

Uniquely Western, Cowboy Kicks is a fundraising experience where arts meets west. Through an exciting live auction, 6 packages featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and 4-feet high fibreglass cowboy boots, hand-painted by Albertan artists, will be auctioned off. There will also be 2-feet high, hand-painted fibreglass boots featured in the charity auction and a raffle. Guests will be treated to a hearty, western meal and beverage while enjoying an intimate performance from special guest Brett Kissel.

“Our Westerner Foundation initiatives will benefit greatly from the support of Cowboy Kicks,” said Mike Olesen, CEO of Westerner Park. “A key pillar of the Westerner Foundation is to invest in the long-term sustainability of Westerner Park’s facilities. The quality of our venues is critical for the major events we host. These events are life-changing experiences that millions of Albertans enjoy. We could not generate the over $150 million in economic activity for the Central Alberta region if not for the continual improvement of our grounds.”

“The Cowboy Kicks event is sure to be a unique and fun way to bring the knowledge and spirit of rodeo to the people of Red Deer and surrounding area while raising money for some great causes,” said Brandon Thome, Executive Director of the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sport Medicine Team. “The efforts from this year’s fundraiser will help to move our team forward – 2020 was a hard year for rodeo in general and our sport medicine team was no different. These funds will help to offset costs incurred from the stoppage of rodeo and our team during the pandemic, such as taping and medical supplies that had already been purchased and upkeep and maintenance of our mobile treatment trailers and vehicles. We are continuing to expand our reach and funding like this will help us to expand to the younger groups of rodeo athletes and build developmental programs. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers of Cowboy Kicks and all of the participants that make it possible!”

A limited quantity of tickets will be available for public sale starting at 10 a.m. on July 12, 2021, through Tickets Alberta at ticketsalberta.ca.
