World Junior Announcement

September 18, 2020

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announced today all games for the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship will be played in Edmonton this coming December and January without fans in attendance. However, there is great news for all our ticket holders, as the IIHF also announced the World Junior Championship will return to Edmonton and Red Deer in just one year (December 2021 / January 2022) and your ticket package will remain valid for this sold out event!

We are very excited to host this tournament in back-to-back years and can’t wait for next December when you are in the arena with us.

At this time, there is nothing you need to do to guarantee your same seats for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. Your ticket package and seat location will be automatically transferred within your account at no additional cost.

If you are unable to attend the 2022 World Juniors, we are providing you a two-week window to opt out of the event and receive a full refund. Should you choose this option, your seats will then be made available to the over 100,000 fans who remain on the waiting list.

Beginning Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, you will be able to relinquish your seat rights and request a refund for your entire ticket package. Click here to submit your request after the refund window opens. The deadline to request a refund of your entire ticket package is Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MT.

We are very grateful that the IIHF has awarded Hockey Canada the 2022 World Juniors, and we will ensure another world-class event in front of our great fans next December and January. If you are interested to see Hockey Canada’s official announcement, please click here.

Thanks, and see you in Edmonton and Red Deer next year.

Sincerely,

Hockey Canada
